  The Daily Schedule

While each day at St. Paul's Weekday Nursery School is varied, there is a consistency and pattern to the day. On arrival the children check in with their own teacher. Then they are encouraged to choose activities, moving as their interests change, among 4 classrooms with other teachers. A planned art activity is always offered during this time, as is active participation in the music program.

After "picking up" the school, the children have approximately 60 minutes with their classmates (8 or 9). "Daily jobs" for each child help facilitate snack time and other routine tasks (calendar, weather, etc). Together the class hears at least one story and has fun with activities related to many curriculum themes.

We go outdoors whenever weather permits to conclude the morning. Indoors, the Big Room is always available with a variety of equipment for active play.

When children have signed up to "Stay for Lunch", this period immediately follows the A.M. dismissal. After eating lunch, the children have time for quiet play, more stories read or occasionally a return to the playground.
